It has been 6 days since Ellie's accident... time to get the stitches removed! We saw Dr. Chmura. Ellie was a little nervous that it was going to hurt, but she helped the Dr. count to seven as she took the stitches out and she did great! She said that it tickled a little bit but didn't hurt. Ellie wanted to see her owie spot after the stitches were out so I let her look in my phone camera. She proceeded to take picture after picture of her forehead, giggling the entire time.
Ellie has been great over the last week about letting me put medicine on her forehead to help it heal. She has also let me feed her for pretty much every meal. She is getting more and more coordinated with her splint though and is adapting well. We have an appointment with Dr. Heaston tomorrow to see if she will need a permanent cast on or if we will just keep wearing the splint. Ellie is a tough cookie! We are sure proud of her!
