Rolling Around

Ryan is a rolling machine!  He is rolling around rooms and has figured out how to roll in order to get toys that are far away.  He will also grab the edge of the blanket that he is rolling on and then cover himself with it on accident.  The top picture is of Ryan on his tummy after he initially grabbed the blanket and rolled.  The bottom picture is of him on his back afterwards.

No Smiles

1st Day of School!

Today is the 1st Day of School for Hannah and Jacob!  They are at University Schools again this year.  Hannah gets to start 3rd grade with Mrs. Violet Christensen.  Jacob will be in 1st grade with Miss Jodi Houghtaling.  We walked to school together this morning to make sure that they each knew where to go.  Once they found their class lines they were ready to go!  They are going to be walking to and from school this year with the Porter kids and Christopher Moses.

1st Day of Preschool!

Ellie gets to start preschool today!  She is SO excited to be a big girl!  She is all set with her new Hello Kitty backpack.  She got to meet her teacher Miss Sandy last week.  Her class assistant is Miss Heidi.  Ellie gets to go to Aims Early Childhood Education in the afternoons.  Hooray!

Dancing Girl

 Ellie is SO EXCITED for her first day of dance class today!  She's got her new outfit and new dancing shoes ready to go!  She is SO excited to finally start her own big kid activities like Hannah and Jacob.  

Lifeguard Rescue

Today was our last hurrah at the pool before school starts this week.  We were at the end of the day and the lifeguards asked Hannah if she would be a victim so that they could practice their lifeguard techniques.  She played dead... if you call giggling dead.  Hannah had fun with it.

Fishing

Today we were able to go up to Grandpa & Grandma Powell's trailer.  The kids spent some time fishing and then we had a hot dog roast.  We had a fun time!

Hannah's Allergy Test

Today I took Hannah to an allergist.  They tested her for a variety of things so that we could answer some questions about her reactions.  We discovered that her lips will itch when she eats cucumbers because it is in the same family as some other allergens that she is allergic to, but she isn't actually allergic to cucumbers themselves.  Her body just thinks she is ingesting the ones that she is allergic to.  

We learned that Hannah is mostly allergic to pollens in the air.  We also learned why she has been reacting to Daisy, our rat.  She is not allergic to rats, but to the aspen wood chip bedding that we use for her cage.  It was pretty tough watching the welts appear.  Hannah was a super trooper through it though and just layed there and took it!  I couldn't be more impressed with her willpower and strength after this experience today.

Ellie Gets a Haircut

Ellie's hair has been getting really long!  I took her to get her haircut today and she had so much fun.  As you can see, she has lots and lots of hair like her Mom.

I tried again to catch Mr. Ryan's smiles today.  Too bad he only wants to touch the camera instead of smiling at it!  Jacob was being silly today too.
